The Cadarn Housing Group was established in 1974 as a Cardiff based housing association called Newydd Housing Association. Following rapid growth in the 1970s and 1980s they moved to Barry in the late 1980's and finally to the new head office in the Summer of 2004. The business operates a flexible working hour system to enable a more responsive service to be provided and to fit in with their lifestyle.

Without the internal resources to research and choose the correct access control system for the new building, 1001 Security Systems were contracted to offer consultancy services. Following a successful proposal 1001 Security Systems installed and now maintain a fully automated Access Control System in the Tongwynlais Head Office and regional offices in Barry, Rhydyfelin and Newtown.
